Freight Specialist Position Summary : d&b audiotechnik is seeking a reliable, knowledgeable, and detail-oriented Freight Specialist to join the Logistics team.

They will be responsible for planning, monitoring, and reporting details for all international shipments, mostly from the factory in Germany to the US.

In their role, the owner of the position coordinates space bookings for AIR & SEA freight and acts as a liaison between the North American office, Freight Forwarders, and HQ.

This position reports to the Warehouse Supervisor and is based at our Logistics Hub in Fletcher, NC. Essential Functions : Be a reliable, knowledgeable, independent worker.

Maintain close relationships with Freight Forwarders and Brokers.Coordinate closely with US Inventory Management for efficient, cost-effective, and reliable delivery of goods from the factory.

Assist with the evaluation and determination of space requirements for outgoing goods (e.g., boat reports and this week’s orders ) and adjust as needed.

Track incoming shipments and report all changes.Check freight notes to ensure accuracy, compliance, and alignment with purchase orders.

Book and maintain container schedules; adjust timing and quantity as needed.Update Harmonized Tariff Schedule (HTS) numbers for brokers when needed.

Verify documentation for TSCA, RGs, HTS codes, values, and other necessary documentation.Maintain communication chain between Freight Forwarders / Brokers and d&b US Teams.

In tandem with HQ Dispatch in Germany, coordinate with Forwarders and follow up as needed.Gather information and documentation from the US and Canada for new orders and pass this information along to the Freight Forwarder.

Maintain an accurate and updated logistics calendar. Update and ensure the accuracy of the Dachser ocean freight report. Manage the exporting process for outgoing international shipments.

Assists with order handling as needed.Additional tasks or responsibilities as assigned.Interaction and specific responsibilities with other departments : Work closely with US Accounting on incoming freight bills and the Customer Service department.

Facilitate shipments for EAS and Product Service departments into other countries.Skills and Abilities : Detail-oriented and the ability to work on several projects simultaneously.

Physical demands : While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally required to stand; walk; sit; The employee must occasionally lift or move office products and supplies, up to 20 pounds.

Education and Experience : Education level : High School diploma or GED5 years of experience in logistics / freight forwardingPosition Type / Expected Hours of Work : This is a full-time, non-exempt position.
